There are many ways you can be intentional about voting for your wellness, and most of these revolve around four key areas I call THE PILLARS OF CONTAGIOUS WELLNESS.
Built on a foundation of PURPOSE (living ON Purpose FOR a Purpose), these life pillars encompass:
1. Your INPUT (how you Fuel your body)
2. Your OUTPUT (how you Strengthen your body)
3. Your REST (how you Rest your body)
4. Your RHYTHM (how you Restore your inner self)
Imagine that the structure with the pillars on page one represents you. ALL of us, no matter how solid we build this structure, will encounter “storms” in life. These may be health-related storms, but they could also be financial storms, family storms, career storms, political storms, etc. The point is that you don’t control the storms. BUT you can influence how RESILIENT you are to these storms based on how intentionally you build. And here's the thing…
YOU are the "bricklayer" for your own Pillars.
No one else can build these pillars for you. And the more you assume personal Responsibility for them, the more Power you will have in shaping your overall health, no matter where your health happens to be today. In many ways, the bricks you lay today will form the stability of your wellness structure tomorrow.
Your Wellness Menu
As you read over the general wellness suggestions in this site, it might help to compare them to sections on a restaurant menu. You probably don’t order everything on the menu at once. Rather, you order something you are in the mood for or would like to try. The “menu” of suggestions on these pages is meant to be practical so you can try out the ones that are most intriguing to you. Keep in mind that you can’t eat the menu…you have to actually order something!
